Craft of our candle

Walk through the necessary steps to manufacture Kushi candles. All of our candles are made exclusively by hand in our studio in England.

Their journey begins with the sculpting of the artisan candle vessel made from ceramic that is molded in the signature rounded square shape and beautifully embellished with an embossed motif that Kushi Candle Co. is renowned for. To ensure the best quality, each mold is limited to only forming 30 vessels. They are then glazed with a smooth gloss on its inner and a raw matte on the outside.

The construction then starts with the set up of the wicks, which are individually fastened by steady hands at the bottom of the vessel so they stay perfectly centred. Fine fragrance oil is blended into slowly warmed wax at the maximum possible load to give you the strongest scent throw. It is then decanted into pre-warmed individual vessels. To protect the natural essential oils, the wax is poured at a cool temperature.

The vessels are rested at room temperature to allow the wax to slowly cool down. Once hardened, they are flashed with intense heat to make sure the surface is pristine and the wicks are trimmed to ensure an optimal first burn. They are then left to cure for several weeks to ensure optimal aroma release when lit.

To conclude the journey, every candle is inspected, polished and ultimately packaged into our bespoke presentation boxes with meticulous care. These wonderful boxes not only give our candles optimal protection on their way to you but promise to make your unboxing experience truly magical.

All of our products are made by hand in small batches by artisans, not machines. Each candle is checked for even the most minor of imperfections by an expert eye. We have no tolerance for quality errors. If for any reason your Kushi Candle Co. goods are not up to the standards that we set ourselves, we ask you to contact us as soon as possible.
